I had an alert come through on my google reader with the headline "Gardening is theft". I could not resist taking a look to find out what this actually meant.
Interestingly enough is was the headline of an essay written by the Radio 2 presenter Alex Lester.
Alex explains on his Blog that he wrote the essay some time ago in a bid to convince himself that raking up leaves in the autumn is a pointless exercise and everything should be left for the garden to deal with naturally.
I think what Alex actually means is ' I am a lazy so and so and if I convince myself and others that gardening is wrong I will not have to do any'.
