It is good to see a woodland regeneration program creating a real product from the wood it is harvesting.
Trefor Owen, one of the UK's leading Clog makers, has moved to Wales in order to utilise the Welsh Sycamore being thinned in the Llyn Peninsular - by the Woodland Trust - in order to regenerate an ancient Oak forest.
The Sycamore is apparently popular with Clog dancers because the wood is light and provides extra spring.

"The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. By acquiring sites and campaigning for woodland, we aim to conserve, restore and re-establish native woodland to its former glory. Currently we own and care for over 1,000 woods, covering over 50,000 acres.
We have over 150,000 members, but as we save more woods we need even more supporters. On average for every new member paying just £2.75 per month we can protect and care for half an acre of native woodland."
