I spent a full ten minutes trying to come up with an acceptable (and clean) headline for this post but I erred on the safe side instead.
The Barton Grange garden centre near Preston has just opened its new mens toilets but it appears that the ladies are finding them more of an attraction because they are formed in the shapes of exotic flowers.
The porcelain urinals are the work of artist Clark Sorenson from San Francisco.
The urinals were inspired by managing director Guy Toppings grandmother, Guy Says: “My grandmother always used to say you can really judge a place by its toilets, so we knew we had to make ours special. Carol, my wife, found these flower urinals on the internet and we just felt they were perfect for us – very quirky but horticultural too."
Guy goes on “People are getting more used to them now, but when we first opened, husbands couldn’t resist taking their wives in to have a look. We have actually had queues of people outside the gents waiting to get in for a look.”
The news item has certainly been making a splash and has even been picked up by the BBC.
