We have not set out to change the world and I am sure that we do not have all of the answers but because we are member driven, the Landscape Juice Network is best placed to help create change within the garden and landscaping industries.
A little over two years ago, the likes of Horticulture Week, the Landscaper Magazine, the Association of Professional Landscapers, the British Association of Landscape Industries didn't have a clue what Landscape Juice brand was or who was behind it.
Today, the garden media landscape is a little different and all of the above, and a lot more besides, have slowly woken up to the fact that there maybe a different way; and at Landscape Juice, I very much hope that we are going to be at the heart of it.
At no other time has an embryonic organisation had such a unique chance to make a difference to a a whole industry sector.
Before now, big men with deep pockets were able to dictate what happened and rather than put the money back into the coffers to improve landscaping and gardening, they kept it to themselves.
The result is the industry foot soldiers, the men and women who are in the thick of it every day, remained at base camp.
Wages remain poor and opportunities for create landscapers and designers to reap higher rewards for their talents is stagnant except for a few TV gardeners who have become egotistical and seem to have forgotten their roots.
Television gardening has very much painted a rosy picture but the sad truth is, landscape and garden businesses have to work very hard to make a decent living.
What is more, joining the Landscape Juice Network is free but the potential return, with the support from other like minded members is huge.
We have already experienced valuable partnerships that have benefited members and of course, anyone who comes to the Landscape Juice Network site can see tips and advice, given by fellow professionals and keen amateurs, for free.
Only yesterday, member Neil Bromhall benefited immediately from a sale after I covered a review by Cleve West on the Independent website. The Landscape Juice review of the review went straight to the first page of Google within the hour - try it Cleve West gardening software.
Horticulture Week are starting to recognise the power of the Landscape Juice brand and have asked to advertise on the site. It is great to see and I am especially delighted that HW are working so hard to make their news available to everyone and really adapt to the web as a way to do it.
Why not come and join us at our planned conference and help bring attention to the landscaping and garden industry.
