It doesn't look like we are going to get a true white Christmas here in France. The weather has been warm and clear all day without a cloud in the sky.
I awoke to a sharp frost which looked really festive but when the sun came round and warmed the grass, the frost soon disappeared.
Walking the dogs was real pleasure and a lot different to last weeks grey skies with biting cold wind; I actually came back with a sweat on.
The series of photos show how nice it has been and Mr Bertrand and his son made the most of the day with a great big hydraulic log splitter that he had borrowed from the Cuma (farming cooperative) and attached to his vintage David Brown tractor (the very same model that pulled the hay rake I sat on as an assistant greenkeeper at Blackmoor golf club).
Not a lot of work done today but I spent the last hour in my workshop working on a garden bench which I started last weekend.
The last of the warm winter rays of sun were a perfect glowing orange as they slipped behind the hillside.
