Kevin Munt has launched his KM Golf consultancy business onto the Internet by starting a blog - believed to be the first of its kind in the UK in the golf industry.
Having recently attending the Harrogate Week turf industry show, Kevin has shown a natural flair for writing and has already added several blog posts on subjects ranging from sustainable golf greens to the latest environmentally friendly electric triple greens mower.
Kevin has worked in the golf industry in a career spanning over thirty years and wanted to utilise all of the experience he had gained over that time by starting a golf consultancy, something he did in 2007, but he felt that in today's Internet age an on-line presence was the only way to reach a wide audience quickly and efficiently.
Turning to Landscape Juice, Kevin asked me to build a blog and explained: "A couple of years ago I stumbled across a blog site that drew me in when researching company naming and marketing, it struck me then that this type of open almost casual communication was a great marketing tool but I had no idea how, or time to, pursue it any further.
"Then two months ago I decided that I needed a good commercial web presents to promote my Golf Consultancy business, I was thinking traditional Web site. I typed Golf Consultant into Google to see who of my competitors were around and what their site were like.
"12 days ago I started my Blog site and typed 'Golf Consultant' into Google, as this is how I earn my living, I searched the first 5 pages and found nothing.
"Today I typed in those same two words and ranked 7th on the first page and second in relevance as a golf course consultant. I have to say that this is a fantastic feeling and incredibly fast considering the mega size of the world wide web".
Kevin's blog is built around the proven Typepad platform with no major needed coding needed from me. I have used Typepad so successfully for the last four years or so and I figure, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
