I recently had a little exchange of comments with VP over on the Veg Plotting blog on her post about 'spammers'.

Sadly for VP, a spam bot managed to access the comments section, adding comments to 140 posts which in turn sent emails to others who had previously left comments on these pages, and had opted to be notified of additional comments.
From the comments left on the page it is clear that bloggers find the scourge of spammers an irritation at best.
However, one point made by VP that surprised me was the her opinion on the loading speed of Typepad blogs. VP wrote: "Typepad is not the easiest of platforms from a reader viewpoint. It takes much longer to load compared to Blogger and WP."
And went on to say "From this users perspective Typepad is very slow for every single Typepad blog I've found and there can be problems with page time out problems when commenting."
This came as quite a shock to me as I have always found Typepad to be the fastest and most efficient when it comes to loading on a page and blogger, as it seeks out all the different elements that the publisher had decided to add, would populate very slowly.
I decided to put it to the test and record a desktop video of both VP's site and my site loading - the result? - see for yourself. I assure you there was no trickery.
Anyone else have any views on the best blogging platform from the readers persepctive?
