Having semi promised myself to build a frame around my asparagus to create raised borders, I kinda missed the opportunity.
But, after saying that I thought the
raised borders from Plants of Zion would be ideal for the job and not actually following through and setting it up I reckon it was only fair to actually send off for some and give it a try.
I have two five metre rolls and I have this afternoon assembled one of them and added pure horse manure.
I will mix in some sieved soil and a little leaf mold from my woodland. The intention is to grow cucumber in this one and then set the other up for lettuce to grow on successively.
I hope to illustrate that, using raised borders, it is possible to grow vegetables and salad crops in areas that might otherwise be difficult to cultivate.
If I may use the cliché 'watch this space' to see the results.
