Details are still a bit sketchy and I hope to follow this up later this week. A report on the BBC website says that a verge near Chudleigh, Devon has been treated with weed killer, damaging or killing several species of orchids.
The site at Crammers Cross include the bee orchid, butterfly and the southern marsh orchid.
The Highways Agency say that gorse and brambles were being treated and over-spray has caused contamination to the non-targeted plants.
