It's a different story today and I'm delighted to say that February was a record month for Landscape Juice.
In last week's post - Has Michael Heseltine lost touch with his markets? - I made what some might consider a spurious claim that Landscape Juice had overtaken Hort Week in the UK marketplace; a remark quickly seized upon by John Walker, who asked: "could you explain how LJ has 'overtaken' Horticulture Week - is there something measurable that demonstrates it? It would be interesting to know what your claim is based on."
I had to concede that it was only belief that spurred my remark; I can however, now say that it's (un)official.
I got to see Hort Week's advertising .PDF yesterday and below are their figures (LJ's Google analytic numbers are stated underneath).
HW - Unique visitors per month 42,000
LJ - Unique visitors per month (Feb 10) 49,500+
HW - Page impressions per month 156,000
LJ - Page impressions per month (Feb 10) 259,000+
I have never paid for advertising ever and all of Landscape juice's growth has come through many thousands of hours of research and development and an interest in the internet and what makes it work - oh, and there's only the one employee :)
