Careers - Experienced and skilled GARDENER required for large garden comprising both formal and informal areas. The garden includes herbaceous borders, shrubberies, lawns, trees, orchards and a vegetable garden with greenhouse.
Pond and wildflower garden to be completed. Duties include grass and hedge cutting, pruning, tending a variety of borders, potting, planting, tidying, general gardening duties and maintenance of equipment. Further areas of the garden remain to be developed. Basic design and landscaping skills would therefore be advantageous.
Successful applicants will need:
* Sound plant knowledge
* Able to demonstrate a good range of horticultural practice
* Competent to use ride-on mowers and pedestrian mowers
* Physical fitness to work with machinery and climb ladders
* Basic maintenance skills for gardening tools and machinery
* Enthusiasm, sound and proven practical gardening experience
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Creative ability for developing garden
* References
Salary dependent upon skills and experience
Circa 2- 3 full days/week. There is flexibility regarding hours.
