A snowdrop collector - or galanthophile if you want the real title - has paid a record £350 for a single Galanthus plicatus EA Bowles snowdrop bulb on the internet auction site, Ebay. The previous record was a paltry £265.
The security 0f snowdrops has become such a problem that the National Trust have tagged theirs to try and thwart raiders - if snowdrop bulbs can make so much money, I can understand why.
