Why garden networking should not be a secret

Philip_voiceI am delighted at the rate that new members are joining my garden network and I can see, within six months, it will be 'the' place for any interested parties to come and share their knowledge and experience, have some fun and of course - network.

I have added a note on the front page about my interpretation of how a network should be run and the most important point I feel I could have made is the one of trust.

The Garden Network refuses to 'network'

Landscape_juice_networkI was hoping to keep you up to date with exciting developments over at the Garden Network site, but, unfortunately I have been banned and my membership has been revoked.

I am yet to receive an explanation as to the reason but I can only assume I have made some remarks - I call it constructive comments - about the functionality of membership.

Creating 'desire lines' in your garden business model

Landscape_juice_networkLandscapers, gardeners and garden designers will be more than familiar with desire lines and the impact they have on planning a garden or managing an existing scheme that may suffer with the adverse effects of a desire line.

I want to take this theory forward a little and apply the same thinking to how we conduct our own business and how, with a little thought, we can create desire lines that allow you to sell your products and services without using a metaphorical battering ram to channel a potential customer into a direction that they do not want to go.

Add your garden event to the Landscape Juice garden network

Bee_on_flowerDo you have a gardening event that you wish to publicice or perhaps a gardening or allotment group that you need to boost the membership to?

Why not add your details to our 'Facebook' of gardening over at the Landscape Juice Network?

The great thing is, because we have thousands of visitors pass through during the week, your event may get that little bit of exposure you may not get if you pop an ad in the local paper.

Has the International Chelsea Flower Show had it's day?

561_3I have just started a discussion on the Landscape Juice Gardeners Network concerning The International Chelsea Flower Show.

With inherent transport problems, increasing admission and parking costs and of course, very limited space, should the Chelsea Flower Show now be scaled down or scrapped?

Join the Landscape Juice Network

Ljn_2Inspired by the Garden Network, I have started my own community here on Landscape Juice.

The advantage to any business or individual who signs up, is the exposure to thousands of weekly visitors who pop by.

I think, here on Landscape Juice, we have that little something extra to offer you that the old fashioned gardening websites cannot.

Now, on top of the daily posts and links to information, events and news, as well as profiles such as today's post subject of Tracey Rich and her life as a wildlife and horticulture photographer, we have the network.

The Garden Network is two months old and growing

Tgn_4I have just joined a new community that is still very young but, could be on the cusp of changing the landscaping and horticulture professions for ever.

I remember when the only way you could raise your profile in the horticulture industry was to join BALI. The trouble was, if they didn't like you, regardless of whether you were a good egg or not, you could not get in.

Then the APL came along shouting that they were going to change things and become an equal to BALI. The shouting stopped and things returned to normal.
