Etesia UK have joined the Landscape Juice Network; they are latest in a string of companies joining the site who see the benefits of social media as a tool with which to work directly with their clients.
Many of Landscape Juice's commercial and domestic landscape and garden maintenance contractors use or aspire to use Etesia mowers but a recent discussion revealed some discontent with the supply of Etesia parts.
South Wales based maintenance contractor Paul Forster claimed many dealers do not hold stock calling them 'useless'.

'Sustainable' is becoming a very cheap word. It is now so overused that I am finding it hard to distinguish between reality and marketing hype.
There really are too many materials, production methods, packaging and foods that are called sustainable but are clearly costly in terms of resources consumed to get them to market, that their sustainability 'label' is devalued by a lack of carbon neutrality.
I am always on the lookout for methods of landscape construction that would allow the consumption of materials without a high cost or heavy impact on the environment.

As a young girl (which was not so long ago!) my father had a shop and I grew up behind the counter literally, writes Claudia de Yong.
The problem was telling my peers where exactly the shop was.
You see the shop was in - Soho! Now ,I know what you are all thinking. Soho ,eh? Well, it gets worse. The shop sold adult games-but not the sort you are all thinking of!

Having semi promised myself to build a frame around my asparagus to create raised borders, I kinda missed the opportunity.
But, after saying that I thought the
raised borders from Plants of Zion would be ideal for the job and not actually following through and setting it up I reckon it was only fair to actually send off for some and give it a try.
I have two five metre rolls and I have this afternoon assembled one of them and added pure horse manure.

If you work as a professional gardener or you have a large garden that has high mature hedges within it then you will undoubtedly need to prune, cut or trim them through the year to keep up with the maintenance - if you miss the defined maintenance period it can lead to some major remedial work later on.
Anyone who has let hedge maintenance slip for a season will know how difficult it is to get back on the right track. A season of hedge growth can be explosive and accessibility to the hedge seriously impeded.

Muck Truck now have a battery version of their popular petrol powered mechanised barrow. The dumper was initially shown at the Saltex Show at Windsor racecourse in September and is expected to be available in early 2009 at a similar price to the petrol machine .
The electric version will be an asset when working around schools or hospitals where diesel or petrol machines make operations too noisy.

He says that he detests spending time in front of a computer, Cleve West, the BBC Gardeners World blogger and garden designer, insists that if you purchase the Complete Gardens 3,500 interactive plant software, you can actually cut down the time you spend in front of the screen.
In perhaps a dig at inferior software imports, West says: "I'm not saying it will stop me buying more books for my sagging shelves but as a work tool (my assistant Humaira will love it) it's brilliant and it's British so it won't throw up lists that will have you trawling through plants that will only grow in Madagascar".
