I am so pleased that the world has experienced the credit crunch and delighted that the banks have collapsed. The whole mess has helped us realise that the simple things in life are more important than a wallet full of money and material wealth.
We cannot however do without any kind of material possessions at all but I have a strong feeling that instead of the top of the range car or the latest spec fridge, we are no longer looking to keep up or better Joneses.
I love romantic simplicity and I can think of nothing more simple than a traditional deckchair. It is an understated icon but it also conjures that feeling of long lazy days on the beach or under the shade of a tree after a morning spent gardening.
The vibrant colours of the canvas are so cheery and summer.
The deckchair is not only minimalist in its design and construction but it is also extremely comfortable and despite numerous attempts, nobody has succeeded in designing and making anything better.
The origins of the chair are as easy stacking chairs on the decks of ships and then progressed to the beach in the times when the great British getaway was to one of the coastal resorts throughout the UK.
Now they can be enjoyed in the garden and they wont cost you an arm or a leg (but watch your fingers when putting one up)
Deckchairs UK sells a wide range of traditional and modern deckchairs.
