It is a wide diversity of products from plants and tools through to clothing and accessories.
There is also another face to Horticulture which perhaps does not get the exposure it deserves and that is the the world and skill of the Horticultural Artist.
One such artist who is officially recognised by the Horticultural Society is Jan Harbon from Hampshire.
Jan started her career as an illustrator at the London College of Printing, following this Jan became a commercial artist. In the last 10 years she has exhibited widely as a member of the Society of Floral Artists of where in 2005 Jan won their award of Excellence , the Society of Botanical Artists Exhibition where she holds the Certificate of Botanical Merit for 2006, at the Royal Horticultural Society where Jan is the proud owner of their Silver Gilt Medal.
Jan moved away from the commercial art world to concentrate on her flourishing private work but it does not stop there. Apart from exhibitions and trade fairs Jan has a Certificate in Adult Education and teaches at workshops and courses.
As a holder of one of her works I can honestly champion this wonderfully unique style of Horticultural Painting.
