I bet like me you have a hankering to live off of the land and be self sufficient?
The thought of walking the hedgerows and collecting berries and nuts or digging up the root of an edible plant and making a warming winter soup from your pickings has a very earthy and natural feel.
What about the wonderful world of the wild mushroom or fungi?
Professional foragers can earn six figures supplying top restaurants and have been branded 'greedy' for trashing the countryside.
If you are sensible and do not strip the whole area of your find then you could transform you menu into something quite special.
The season is getting late now as the humidity gives way to the sharp frosts but there are still some little gems to be had.
