Never again will I complain that at the age of nearly 43 that I am just too old to dig over the veg patch or mow the lawn. If the tale of Jim Webber is anything to go by I am not even halfway into my working life.
Gardener Jim Webber has just retired at the ripe old age of 104 to concentrate on his own garden and selling his produce.
Jim, from Stoke Abbot in Dorset was born on Christmas Eve in 1902. It was an age long before the prissy mechanisation we enjoy today and a time when the work ethic was strong.
Jim has never taken a holiday in his life because he never felt the need and puts part of his longevity down to a tipple of whisky.
