Picking up on a story on the BBC website it looks like there is a possibility that New York could become the first city in the world to have a farm built in tiers and housed in a building within the city.
Today, every scrap of food that is consumed in the Big Apple has to be transported in and in today's carbon aware society that is becoming un acceptable.
A great idea if you ask me but, talking as someone who lives on a traditional arable farm and previously a livestock farm, there is nothing like the real open air and the views around the place.
I will keep an eye on things to see if it will reach production.
Maybe this is a solution for the allotmenteers at Manor Gardens?
