It may have taken a couple of hundred years to cotton on but a Dorset hospital has banned visitors from bringing flowers into patients because of a risk of infection.
Dorchester Hospital has taken the decision after consultation with hospital staff, visitors and patients claiming that a patient would rather receive a bouquet when they arrive home than in the ward.
I suppose it might be the right decision - lets face it, the already hard pressed health service would probably crumble if it had to spray the patients daily for and outbreak of Phytophthora Root Rot.
