I am sure that you are itching to get out into your green space for the long weekend.
However, good old Mother nature has a different ideas and has reminded us all that she is still in control - are you still a believer in global warming?
Despite the cold snap, a few hardy souls will venture out, if only to feel the freshness of the weather on the face and enjoy that steaming hot bowl of soup and a hunk of crusty bread afterwards.
Bear in mind, if you do work on projects outside, that this is, statistically, a vulnerable time and many accidents occur doing DIY and gardening jobs. Whilst not exhaustive, Rospa have a little checklist on their site pointing to the most likely causes of accidents.
How about this video which was posted on You Tube? I just could not believe my eyes when I watched it. I do not know about accidents but the actions of these people is just insane. How could anyone feel the need to put their life in danger for a couple of minutes of fun?
The incident took place at Scomi Oiltools in Peterhead last May but has only just been posted on the popular You Tube website. The incident led to one person being dismissed and two others leaving after an internal enquiry.
I am sure that you will not be reckless but never the less, please take care over the holiday and enjoy the break. I am sure the weather will improve soon enabling all of us to get out and start our projects.
Haha - two weeks ago it was a trip to casualty for me after an incident with greenhouse glass and this evening i'm sitting here with my foot up as today I dropped a slate tile on my foot, more blood. Sigh.
