The weather this weekend is set to soar in the United Kingdom and garden centres should be on standby for a bumper weekend.
Hopefully, trade will pick up and alleviate any fears that this season has already passed for growers and retailers.
The early Easter and poor weather put pay to a strong start from the blocks but hopefully, hard pressed businesses can bounce back strongly - early bedding will be one of the indicators or how successful the weekend would have gone.
According to a headline on Gardenforum, growers are still confident of a good season, despite the slow start. However, you will have to subscribe to find out why the growers are still hoping of a bounce.
Do you intend to visit a garden centre this weekend - If you do, what is on your shopping list?
I am interested to know, will you upgrade your garden furniture, lawn mower or greenhouse or are you planning to make do for another year and save some money?
I'm not sure 16 degrees and showers counts as a heatwave, or the sort of forecast to gladen retailers hearts, but lets hope anyway.
For what its worth, the improved weather over recent days has brought the punters out rather more in our experience - it now seems to be getting to the stage that people are desperate to get out in the garden, and as long as the weather is vaguely warm and dry they're going to give it a go....
