I have got to hand it to VP over at the Veg Plotting blog. This is an absolute perfect example of how to reach out to thousands of readers by covering a huge array of topics ranging from gardening to charity work.
What is more, VP has taken a very active part in linking out to various websites and blogs that feature in her posts and it is this 'Google effect' that has quickly gained her a page rank of four - no mean feat I can tell you - in just over six months.
You may not have the same time available as VP does to sit at the key board but if you follow her style as a principle for your own site then I can tell you you will be on to a winner.
VP lives in Chippenham and has probably done more to put the town on the map than the tourist board and writes copiously about the town and what goes on.
VP is also a volunteer with the National Trust and this post, are you doing your bit, gives an insight into how important she takes her volunteer work and how much she is doing to promote being a volunteer in general.
There are thirty seven links to various sites that appear in VP's posts - It used to be an obsession with bloggers to spam other sites with their details to try and get a link back their own blog. Now, the boot is very much starting to appear on the other foot and some would argue that linking out is a much more important way of disparateness.
Anyway, here is the important link to Veg Plotting and probably the only one you will need today because once you start to read, I am sure you will have to follow the archives through.
Hi Phil,
Have just looked at veg plot blog. Am new to this blogging lark but it does sound fascinating. Haven't quite got to grips with adding in links and even on your site have difficulty finding the right buttons to personalise - loading photos seems to be about my limit!!! Must spend more time getting to grips with this I think.
