Recent legislation submitted by three American politicians could have a dramatic impact on lawn mower sales if it gets passed as law.
The Wall Street Journal TWJ reports the proposal to give an immediate twenty five percent tax credit if a gardener changes a petrol machine for one that is much more environmentally friendly. Push, compressed gas powered, electric and mowers that run on rechargeable systems would qualify under the proposed scheme.
TWJ points out that the scheme has already met with approval from the Outdoor Powered Equipment Institute.
This is still a bill, but an important cause to all get behind. I found information about the bill at www.greenergardensact.com. We all need to call our congress people to make sure this passes.
