Just to set the record straight Marshalls issued an internal briefing note to all staff on the 25th August stating...

"Following the most recent review of projected sales and current stock levels, we are pleased to announce that there will not be a requirement to implement temporary lay off arrangements at any site in the immediate short term. As such, there are now no plans to introduce lay off during September, October or November 2009."

Hope this helps

Thanks for the update Chris - this is good news and nobody wanted to see people laid off on reduced pay.

I am a little confused - was the Financial Times article erroneous?

Good news indeed, if it is actually true!
