Borehamwood based Arbour Design and Build have started work on a charity garden project for people with autism and learning difficulties
Despite good support it looked as though the project would not go ahead. When Richard Bickler of Arbour heard of the group’s plight, he volunteered his firm's support and got the project back on track.
The land had been acquired by Dimensions, but additional funding and materials were needed to help turn the dream of an allotment for people who attend the day service at the Dimensions run QEQM Resource Centre into reality.
Lauren Butler, Project Manager at Dimensions’ QEQM Centre, said: “We were overwhelmed by the offer of support from Arbour Design and Build. The centre is really grateful for all their help in getting the project up and running. It’s a dream come true for some of the people we support. They really wanted to grow their own vegetables and create their own garden and now this is all possible.”
