when I was at college we were told never to pull your rotary/hover mower backwards because if you miss a footing and fall backwards your natural reaction is to grab onto something – in this case the mower handle bars – pulling the machine on top of you.

I have seen people getting quite badly hurt due to lack of common sense and good PPE.

Alternatively why not install a fake lawn and never mow again :-)
