The world's smallest solar cinema rolls into this week’s Malvern Spring Gardening Show, but there’s just one snag... you might have to join the queue.
The Sol Cinema seats just eight people and is a micro movie house powered entirely by the sun using a photovoltaic panel to harnesses the sunlight even as films are being shown
The cinema features an eclectic library of short comic, quirky and musical films with inspirational environmental themes.
Alongside the cinema there will be many other attractions in the Eco Home & Garden area, all around the centre-piece that is an shepherd’s g.
It will feature a modern shepherd’s living van, alongside the Three Counties Agricultural Society’s vintage shepherd’s hut and collection of tools, a vegetable garden enclosed by locally-coppiced fencing, wildflowers and lambs.
And even Little Bo Peep will also be visiting the garden each day.
The garden is also being used to showcase the British Wool Industry and there will be information about eco-friendly wool-based products for the home and garden.
Around 90,000 people are expected to attend the show at Worcestershire’s Three Counties Showground, which takes place from May 12 to 15, 2011.
This is such a great idea! Are there plans to build a solar cinema that can seat more than just eight? That would be wonderful. I would definitely go see a movie there!
