I've often said the internet will change the way we do business; here's evidence of how the internet and the power of Landscape Juice has helped Etesia UK - much to the delight of their French parent company - re-focus their efforts to include the much neglected one-man-band.
When Etesia UK's general manager, Les Malin, heard that the products he supplied were being criticised he saw how the internet has changed business.
"It is amazing how things start, a simple email from a loyal user of the Etesia brand alerted me to adverse comments on a website I had never heard of, but which has led us on a journey of discovery, both about ourselves and more importantly a band of customers whose voice we had never heard, writes Les Malin.
"How appropriate that the forum has been established by a man with the surname 'Voice'.
"For years our parent company has wanted us to expand our dealer network, we had resisted as we felt the dealers we worked with were dedicated to our main customer base, namely local authorities and large contracting bodies.
"But that email and the subsequent open discussions on the Landscape Juice Network forum has opened our eyes to a band of customers who were being overlooked when it came to the most important factor, after-sales care.
"The Landscape Juice forum has allowed us to deal with problems, queries and provide simple product information quickly and effectively.
"Neal, my technical assistant, monitors the site daily, and most evenings late into the night he can be found online answering people's questions.
"We are no longer resisting the wishes of our parent company and have already opened some new accounts with smaller dealers, who have been recommended by Landscape Juice members and over the months to come more will follow.
"Etesia UK is committed to giving all customers equal service regardless of them being a 'one man band' or multi-national company, and we will endeavour to build on the relationship already established with the Landscape Juice Network members large and small."
