This is a major problem and I seriously hope people take it as seriously as they need to. Everyone can help the whole of the uk use less water, from shorter showers to not using their swimming pools to large contractors minimising their planting schemes the subsequently use large amonts of water.
South east water are currently subsidising water butts, to encourage people to install them and use them. Grey water systems should be installed on all new builds and possibly subsidised also.
