Ian Price suffers from depression.
Ian has been designing gardens since qualifying with BSc hons in landscape and garden design from writtle college in 1998.
Ian worked for The Landscape Centre in Antrim for five years and Tobermore Concrete for six months before becoming ill.
Ian says: "I've been working for myself since 2004 at Ian price design
"I got treatment from Holywell hospital through my doctor - seeing the men in white coats when I wasn't feeling great didn't help at all. I felt sure I would walk out after my assessment after seeing them, but I did.
"I was put on seroxat and then paroxetine and then after my third major bout I was given citolapram which was much less agricultural on my system and I felt was the better medication. Everyone is different and reacts differently to every treatment.
"I was provided eventually with cbt by the hospital/doctor. This I felt helped but I kept giving the right answers instead of the honest answers.
"My best therapy and biggest help was the support groups facilitated by sufferers and run by Aware Defeat Depression based in Belfast. This is who I did the show garden 'one 4 the journey' in association with."
Here I talk to Ian about the battle with his depression:
