The Malvern Spring Gardening Show apparently ranks higher than the Chelsea Flower Show in a list of Britain’s top 10 horticultural events.
2,300 members of Which? Gardening magazine, were asked to consider gardening shows across the country and rate them in terms of overall feel, features, quality of exhibits, non-gardening content, facilities, location and access.
Scores were published as the percentage of members rating any one show as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, with Malvern scoring 80%, taking it above Tatton Park, BBC Gardeners’ World Live, Cardiff Show, and the Shrewsbury and Wisley flower shows.
The Malvern show is a partnership between the Three Counties Agricultural Society and the Royal Horticultural Society. It's now in its 28th year.
The Malvern Spring Gardening Show takes place between 9 and 12 May this year, and is likely to attract in the region of 90,000 visitors.
I went to Malvern last year and to be honest it was terrible more like a market than a flower show. Setting is fantastic, we had a great weekend. However it's back to Chelsea this year.
