I read a news item this morning which explained how by using Google Trends it was potentially possible to trade the stock market: or certainly foresee crashes.
It all makes perfect sense to me. By collating the activity from certain search terms one could potentially predict what the next step might be.
In stock market terms investors are often referred to as lemmings. When one makes a break the rest follow suit so a breakout on a stock may be predicted when all the lemmings start searching on one particular stock, phrase or topic.
Sadly lemmings are notorious (or is that a myth?) for following each other off cliffs to their deaths.
Landscaping and gardening breaking out
Out of curiosity I thought I'd do a search on trends for landscaping and gardening in the UK.
It was no surprise to me to see that the long-term trend is down since 2004 but what is interesting to note is that there appears to be a breakout forming, when one looks at the forecast (dotted line).
Whilst gardening has oscillated on a fairly even basis, landscaping interest appears to have waned: bottoming out in December 2010.
Both gardening and landscaping appear to be heading in a northerly direction.
Does this indicate that we are turning a corner and gardens and landscaping will become trendy and start trending?
Seasonal. And it's the SEASON !!!!
Track 12x's/year.
What I'm finding 'new' is complete turnkey. Garden 'and' house renovations. Renovations including design/decorating/styling.
